Great music, colorful hats. Low pressure living. That's the kind of day I am not having. I could use a little "No Woman No Cry".
A happier thought is my salad. All local produce bought this morning, including the cashews and avocado and lemon squeezed on top.
I bought a rose plant from a guy off the street because I am having a bad day. He was wearing a white Gilligan's Island hat and zoned in on me like a man with a lot of sisters, one who understood the look on my face. That it meant, "Yes, I will take your scraggly rose plant."
I got back last night from 3 days down south in an area called Muxungue. It is the pineapple producing center of Moz. Here is a picture of my first-ever pineapple plant, which I fondly patted down into the soil, with two others, in our front yard this morning. This variety takes two years to produce its first fruit, but all the Mozambicans keep explaining to me that when it does, that sucker gonna be huge.

Now I'm going to go bake bread. Because happiness is an act of will!

Happiness is an act of Will! Amen, sister! I just looked outside and I think it's trying to snow. . . okay, that was random for you :). I bake bread to make me feel better too! Find happiness in a salad, an email, a picture, a little No Woman, No Cry. . . or like a crinkly old man on the bus was telling me the other day "It takes more muscles to smile than to frown." Even when I am feeling like my spiritual life, my personal life (boys!) and my work life are being challenged. . . I find happiness in the semi-snow outside :). Loads of love, Melissa
