release

I have beautiful friends, some of whom have blogs, which makes me feel happy because I love reading those as much as I love reading The Guardian each week or my National Geographics (these have yet to arrive here in Moz, though the Society promised to transfer my subscription, kind-hearted people keep buying and mailing to me anyway).

I have a little routine when I'm home that functions as one of my principal stress-relievers: setting iTunes to the "good songs" playlist (or the "cribbage victory is mine" or "make love not war" playlists), snuggling down into a soft chair late in the evening, my knees drawn up to my chin, and reading one of the publications I mentioned above, at my long leisure, with Sara beside me so we can chat about the interesting bits. I hope to have kids some day, and I also hope I can train them early on to let me keep this routine.

If I didn't have this, I'd be a frazzled witch-hag, a seriously unpleasant person with a stress bubble the size of Sierra Leone. That's how much it relaxes me.

I want to point out two blog posts by two the best people: my BFF Sara, and the girl who writes me the most hand-written letters (by far, at least one per month), Leslie. Sometimes we're lied to and told the world is all going to crap, everyone is mean and evil and big fat cheaters. But these two prove to me that's just wrong. I love the way they shimmer.

My National Geo subscriptions have gotten lost in the mail too. . . all of a sudden they started showing up in Akron, PA (never lived there. . .) but like you- it's worth even "trying" to receive :).

Enjoy your blog reading! I know reading folks blogs are a way out of my own head too :).
