I wanna do right but not right now

I am desperately non-fatally sick right now, having spent 18 of the last 20 hours lying in bed. I don't know what it is, beside general nausea and immense lethargy. I can say with certainty I'm not pregnant. I'm just tired. I don't feel like doing or eating anything. No fever. I just feel hugely crummy. Today's big activity was getting out of bed to retrieve my computer, falling back into it to put  on Gillian Welch's Soul Journey, and writing this post.

I also had to call in sick to the baby clinic early this morning, which is a big deal because I love being there. I haven't mentioned it yet, but there's a free HIV pediatric where I've begun volunteering 3 days a week. It is intense by virtue of what it is, but what it is is amazing. Sometime I will muster up energy to write about it. Even in my current state, I miss having been to it.

I'm going back to bed now. Hopefully I won't drown in self-pity.

It's okay to be sick- curl up in your bed, watch music videos.

Sounds like mono... who have you been kissing? Actually, when I had mono in high school, it was most likely because I was working with kids coughing in my face all summer... it's not always from kissing.

Really? Getting mono from kissing would make you a happy woman? :)

Well, I'm not going to kiss you, but I am mailing you a mini-package tomorrow. A book and a cd and a couple magazines. So while you're sick you can look forward to its arrival.
Love from Wheaton (only 6 more weeks!!!!!)
